Mountainfilm on Tour
is the traveling branch of Mountainfilm in Telluride, the “annual celebration of indomitable spirit” held in Telluride, Colorado every Memorial Day weekend. Mountainfilm focuses on outdoor subjects and, for 30 years, has been “dedicated to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving and conversations worth sustaining.” A presenter from Mountainfilm staff will introduce and discuss both of these programs, which are produced for the Rafael by Kimberly Hughes and Kelli Petersen.

Films include Gimme Green by Isaac Brown and Eric Flagg (environmental), Learning to Fly by Lincoln Else and (in attendance) Chris McNamara (BASE jumping), First Ascent: The Obscurist by Peter Mortimer (climbing Yosemite), Badgered by Sharon Colman (animation), Roam (mountain biking), Global Focus (portraits of environmentalists by Bay Area filmmakers Will Parrinello, Tom Dusenbery and John Antonelli (in attendance) , A Voyage to 100 Meters by Jerome Espla (portrait of free-diving recordholder Guillaume Nery) and Running Down the Man by Ben Knight and Travis Rummel (taming Baja’s Rooster fish). Program approximately 2.5 hours.

Films include First Ascent: Black Canyon by Peter Mortimer (free ascents), Titans of the Coral Sea (Papua New Guinea) Global Focus (more portraits of environmentalists by Bay Area filmmakers Will Parrinello, Tom Dusenbery and John Antonelli (in attendance)), Emmy: The Story of an Orphan by Bobby Bailey (Ugandan war survivor), The Job by Jonathan Browning (satire), Trial and Error Progression by Bjorn Enga (mountain biking, environmental), The Good Fight by Mark Fraser and James Fox (environmental crusader Martin Litton), A Land Out of Time by Mark Harvey (environmental), Good Riddance- Air Pollution by Nick Hilligoss (animation) and Middle Kaweah (kayaking). Program approximately 2.5 hours.
